Ingredients: 1-1/2 cup silver tequila
2 ruby red grapefruits, halved
3 limes, halved
1/4 simple syrup (recipe below)
2 jalapeños, sliced (add more or less, depending how spicy you like it)
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
Garnish: lime wedges, chamoy and chili lime salt for the rim
Preheat grill to medium-high heat, about 10-15 minutes.
Place lime and grapefruit halves cut-side down on the hot grill. Cook until browned and grill marks form, 5 to 10 minutes. Transfer to a rimmed baking sheet to cool.
Once citrus is cooled, juice the grapefruits and limes into a pitcher.
Into the same pitcher, add tequila, simple syrup, sliced jalapeños and kosher salt; stir to combine.
Dip the rim of the glasses into the chamoy and then the chili lime salt.
Fill glasses with ice and pour drink mixture over ice.
Garnish with a lime wedge and enjoy!
Combine 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup granulated sugar in a small sauce pan. Bring to a boil, lower heat and simmer for 10-12 minutes until sugar is completely dissolved and mixture is nice and syrupy.
