Sweet and tart, this Apple Bourbon Cobbler recipe by Cheeky BBQ will have your family and friends fighting over this decadent dessert.
Ingredients for the Filling:
6 large apples, peeled & sliced
2/3 cup brown sugar
3 oz bourbon
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Ingredients for the Topping:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup melted butter
Directions:
- Slice apples and combine brown sugar, bourbon and cinnamon in a large cast iron skillet.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, eggs, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Whisk until combined and crumbly. Pour on top of filling and then pour over melted butter.
- Preheat Aspire grill to 375-400° and set up for indirect heat. Put cast iron skillet on indirect heat side of the grill and bake for 30-40 mins or until top is golden brown.
- Serve warm with ice cream.
